EU produces fewer greenhouse gases

Emissions of climate-damaging greenhouse gases in the EU fell by seven percent last year compared to the previous year. This was reported by the statistics office Eurostat in Luxembourg. Over the ten-year period from 2013 to 2023, the decrease amounted to 18 percent. In absolute figures, the amount of emissions emitted last year corresponded to around 3.4 billion tons of carbon dioxide.
